GOLDEN GATE VILLAGE PHASE 1 REVITALIZATION SLATED TO BEGIN MAY 2026

Marin City, CA — January 20, 2025— Burbank Housing and the Marin Housing Authority (MHA) have reached a milestone in the revitalization of Golden Gate Village. The project is moving into its relocation planning stage, with Phase 1 residents starting the process of signing their new leases and revitalization slated to start in May 2026.

Supported by partners such as Marin County, PG&E, and HUD, the project continues to move forward with a later project start date due to construction material availability. The priority remains clear: delivering high-quality renovations and returning residents to their homes as quickly as possible.

“With the support of our partners, we are one step closer to beginning this historic revitalization, and we look forward to starting the renovation of Phase 1 Golden Gate Village soon,” said Larry Florin, CEO & President of Burbank Housing.

“This milestone is a testament to the persistence of this partnership,” said Kimberly Carroll, Executive Director, Marin Housing Authority, “Despite challenges with the availability of construction material, we are moving forward with a clear path to revitalize this historic community. We appreciate the residents’ patience as we work to ensure every resource is in place
to begin construction so we can welcome residents home as quickly as possible.”

Phase 1 revitalization and temporary relocation will occur in subphases to ensure continuity of housing. Residents will be provided 90 days’ notice before any relocation, supplemented by frequent updates via the project’s official communication channels.
